This course is designed to provide an integrated introductory treatment of airplane performance with flavor of aircraft design and flight testing. Topics covered include Airplane performance characteristics, Introduction to airplane and its components, Concept of life aerofoil, Drag polar, Standard atmosphere, Thrust required, Excess thrust power, Estimation of drag polar through flight test, Estimation of rate of climb, Gliding flight, Accelerated flight, Take off performance, Landing performance, and Static stability.
