Description
The course introduces the student to basic principles of geosciences and their applications in civil engineering. The modules of this course will help the student to have better understanding towards the interior of the earth, earth system and its process. Topics covered in this course include Introduction to Geological Hazards and Environmental Impact, Active Faults and its Related Hazards in India, Geological Considerations in Dams and Tunnels, Tsunami and Related Hazard, Landslide and Subsidence, Flood and Related Hazard, and Groundwater.
