Assessment

To achieve the full English Literature A Level you will be assessed across the 4 components. All components will be assessed by 3 paper-based exams and coursework. • Comparative study of two texts (Emily Bronte, Wuthering Heights and Angela Carter, The Bloody Chamber) - one 2500 word extended essay and a bibliography
• Weighing: 20% of A Level

Examinations Paper 1: Drama – 9ET0/01

• Type: Written examination
• Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
• Weighing: 30% of A Level
• Total Marks: 60
• Assessed: Component 1
• Assessment format: Two essay questions

Paper 2: Prose – 9ET0/02

• Type: Written examination
• Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes
• Weighing: 20% of A Level
• Total Marks: 40
• Assessed: Component 2
• Assessment format: One comparative essay question

Paper 3: Poetry – 9ET0/03

• Type: Written examination
• Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
• Weighing: 30% of A Level
• Total Marks: 60
• Assessed: Component 3
• Assessment format: Two questions
