Assessment
To achieve the full Classical Civilisation A Level you must take the exams. You will be responsible for booking your exams. We can help you to find your nearest exam centre and we have 7 recommended exam centres across the country. You can contact us for help with this whenever you are ready. The exams will be assessed across the 14 topics on 3 paper-based examinations. A more detailed breakdown of the exams is provided below: Paper: The World of The Hero (H408/11)- Type: Written Paper
- Duration: 2 hours 20 minutes
- Weighing: 40% of total A Level
- Total Marks: 100 Marks
- Assessed: In-depth study one of Homer’s Iliad or Odyssey and Virgil’s Aeneid (The study of classical texts)

Course Duration
You have 2 years to complete this course. Your only deadlines are the A-Level examinations, which take place in June. You can book onto these examinations whenever you are ready and we can provide you with a list of exam centres to help you with this. Students are advised to contact awarding body exam centres well in advance of their intended exam dates, as cut-off dates sometimes change.Study Method
This course enables you to study for an A-Level in Classical Civilisation by distance learning at home or at work. Your course materials will be sent to you by post or online.
