Assessment

To achieve the full English Language and Literature A Level you must take the exams. You will be responsible for booking your exams. The exams will be assessed across the 3 components. All components will be assessed by two paper-based examinations and coursework.   • Weighing: 40% of A Level
  • Total Marks: 50

Paper 2: Varieties in Language and Literature – 9ELO/02
  • Type: Written examination
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

  • Assessment format: One essay question and one comparative essay question
Coursework: Investigating and Creating Texts – 9ELO/03

  • Assessment format: Two pieces of original writing and one analytical commentary

Please note that if you choose to study this A-Level you will have to sit your exams in one of our recommended centres. This is due to the administrative arrangements for submitting coursework.
